Our Corn Starch Kitchen bags are designed primarily for breathable Kitchen Caddies. As Cornstarch is 100 times more permeable than Polythene this allows the waste to breathe and evaporate water. Clear Compostable PLA Bags

Clear Compostable Bags for Bread, Food and General Use
Clear PLA (poly lactic acid) a fermentation process to extract polymers from Vegetables and plants. Compostable and Biodegradable bags or Biodegradable and Compostable film made from Maize or Corn Starch and GM Free by Sidaplax, are suitable for food packaging in particular fresh salads, and fresh foods. Also used for Greetings cards, and many other applications. Made primarily from Maize, PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) is a clear film with a crinkly feel. 100% Compostable and conforms to EN13432. Products PLA Bags, PLA Film, PLA film on the reel, PLA food films, and PLA Clear Bags. PLA Bags can be printed to your requirements.
 

Genetically Modified (GM) Free Range of Compostable Films

Mater Bi® has been tested and is GM Free. Our PLA film Earthfirst is also GM Free. These two products are suitable for Organic Certified Products, and do not compromise your certification.
 

Home Compost Films & Bags

There are two types of Compostable films, Home and Commercial. Essentially Home compost films are suited to both Commercial and a Home compost environment, and Commercial is suited to Commercial Compost streams. Please note Commercial films are not very suited to Home Composting as efficiently as Home Films. Mater Bi offer both types of films

 Degradable Mineral Additives Schulmann, D2W

We can offer on all of our range of polythene bags a mineral based additive which greatly speeds up the degradation process to a time frame of about 12 to 18 months. Degradation only takes place when moisture & temperature and microbes are present. Bags have a long shelf life if stored in the usual way. Please note this type of bag cannot legally be described as 'Compostable or Biodegradable'. The term 'degradable' is acceptable, and this product does not comply with EN13432.

Natureplas is made from Mater Bi. a 100% Biodegradable and Compostable Biopolymer Plastic. Mater Bi is a completely new material. It isn't paper nor polythene, yet has the advantages of both products. "Mater-Bi® is the first family of bioplastics
that use vegetable components, such as corn starch, that have been modified with biodegradable polyesters".
Natureplas represents great value and costs are similar to Paper. and makes a step in the right direction, and allows our clients to show commitment to environmental sustainability. EN13432 bags are approved by the UK Composting Association the Soil Association and can be included in Local Authority Waste Compostable Collection Schemes or Green Waste.

Natureplas bags are made from renewable plant materials, and composts and biodegrades from 60 days**. Mater Bi is also 100 times more permeable than polythene making it Ideal for storing Produce, Meat, and Kitchen Compost Caddies for odour free composting.
